Winthrop junior biology major, Octavia Scott, from Lexington, S.C. regularly volunteers with Winthrop’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
When she’s not on a “build” (a site where the group is constructing a house) she’s helping the committee members come up with fundraising ideas for their next project.
She has also been instrumental in gaining new members to continue the work of the organization once she is gone. And that is why Octavia Scott is a student hero.
